Lola lives under an old oak tree on a tidal marsh in Charleston, S.C., with her husband, daughter, a curly-haired lap dog, and her fat ginger familiar cat. An alligator she named Tater lives in a pond on her property, along with many frogs, turtles and a heron. Lola is a voracious, omnivorous reader & music lover, and laments daily that she cannot raise just one eyebrow. (She is convinced having eyebrow autonomy would vastly improve her life. OH THE LOOKS SHE COULD GIVE.)
